The theme of this 21st Comic Strip Festival is ‘Zwinsteden in the comic strip’, with a mini-expo dedicated to the Zwinsteden in the comic strip and a wonderful overview of the various posters created over the years for the Knokke-Heist Comic Strip Festival.

The festival welcomes an impressive line-up of some 60 illustrators, including international luminaries such as Indonesian Apri Kusbiantoro (known from Storm), Claus Scholz from Belgium/Germany, Fabio Bono from Italy, and Thierry Capezzone from Denmark with his work “Pol”. Visitors can also look forward to top Belgian artists such as Batem with “Marsupilami”, Philippe Delzenne with “Jommeke”, and many others.

Sunday 28 April promises to be a day full of comic adventure for young and old. Besides numerous comic book publishers who will be present with cosy stands, the Knokke-Heist library will also promote its comic book collection and organise fun activities for the whole family. Think about immortalising yourself as a comic book character at the photobooth, a treasure hunt for Bollie and Billie with your children, and building a comic book character together with LEGO bricks.

The prestigious event will be kicked off on Saturday evening with the Strip Award Show, where various comic book awards will be presented in the presence of numerous public figures and cartoonists. All this will take place at De Ravelingen, and promises to be a true spectacle.
